[Thrash/Heavy Metal] Megadeth

Megadeth are proud to announce that they will be embarking on a headline tour, their first in support of their latest album, Endgame. The Endgame tour will feature Machine Head, Suicide Silence, and Arcanium in support slots from November 14 through December 3. Warbringer will replace Machine Head on the bill, beginning on December 5.

Megadeth’s twelfth studio release, Endgame, is released today, September 15.

Bonne nouvelle il y a Machine Head de la partie, ce qui promet du bon gros show ! Espérons qu'une tournée européene soit organisée.

Je pense pas qu'on aura Machine Head en Europe vu qu'ils tournent déjà en février et qu'ils ont annoncé que c'était la dernière pour The Blackening. Et puis entre les festivals et Metallica ils auront pas mal été en Europe cette année quand même.

Au fait je me posais une petite question sur Megadeth et notre ami Dave, pourquoi est ce qu'il a écrit A tout le monde en français?

Oui c'est sur il fait ce qu'il veut mais c'est pas anodin d'avoir chanté en français enfin y a bien une raison j'imagine, une petite anecdote, un petit truc quelque chose

Cette chanson est écrite d'après un rêve dans lequel il voyait sa mère qu'il avait perdue lui demander de la rejoindre (c'est écrit dans le post de présentation). Il me semble que Dave a des origines françaises, ceci explique peut-être celà...

Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine is eyeing an early retirement from the band - due to persistent problems with his neck.

The 48-year-old rocker takes the blame for his own health issues, and admits he's punished his body for decades by thrashing his head around during performances.

He tells Metal Hammer:

"Yeah, retirement is a concern. It has to do with the limitations of my body. I’ve got stuff going on with my neck. I try not to make it obvious but the range of motion in my neck is becoming very limited. I don’t think it has as much to do with wear and tear, as it does with the lack of preparation. There were so many years where I would go out there and just start headbanging. I didn’t think, 'OK Dave, you’re an elite athlete, you do metal calisthenics (exercises) with your left hand… so why don’t you limber up the rest of your body?'"

But the rocker hasn't given up on his music career just yet, and hopes his new exercise routine will alleviate his aches.

He adds, "Over the last two years I’ve really started to take a different approach to my health, my fitness… my life. For the last year I’ve been on a really strict regiment and I try to take really good care of myself so I can play better."

"Wake Up Dead: A Heavy Metal Memoir" is not simply a tell-all story of decadence and debauchery.

"That stuff is mundane," Mustaine told Noisecreep. "We come to expect that from rock stars, so why would I talk about it? Everybody knows it happened. I want to talk about things that are way more important. There's stuff in there about how the band was formed, why I chose to sing, how the different band members came and went, how different songs were written, stuff that happened through the addictions and rehabs. And when I got done reading it for the first time, when I closed the last page I actually had tears in my eyes because somebody had finally gotten who I am as a person in print."

According to Mustaine, part of the book reveals how he practiced black magic as a teenager, and how the experience — which inspired the 1986 song "The Conjuring" — affected his life for years after.

"I put two hexes on people, and they both worked and the result was just what I was asking for," he explained. "Now, it took forever to get that Satanic depression off of me because it's just like playing with a Ouija board. You open the doorway to the dark side, and spirits come through. It took almost 20 years to get rid of that Satanic depression. I did it when I was 15, and I don't think I got free of it until I was in my mid-30s.You ask yourself, 'How is it possible that this is happening to me?' Well, because you flirted with the devil and you put a hex on somebody and you put another hex on somebody, and, well, you owe him. And that's why I have a problem playing 'The Conjuring' today."

Il a écrit une auto-biographie dans laquelle il parle de plein de moment-clés pour le groupe, les différents membres, pourquoi il a décidé de chanter...

Dave [Mustaine, MEGADETH mainman] and I talked on the phone, and all the feuds, all the arguments we've been having over the years just melted away. It just goes to show what direct contact can achieve!"

Regarding how the whole thing came about, Ellefson said, "Obviously, I have no clue what happened within the band. But I got a text from Shawn [Drover, drums] and it just said, 'If ever there was a time for you and Dave to talk, now is it.' It's one of those messages you act on immediately. Typically of MEGADETH, things then happened big and fast.

"In all honesty, talking to Dave again was wonderful. It was the right thing at the right time, done in the right spirit."

Megadeth mainman Dave Mustaine was interviewed by Jose Mangin, program director for Sirius XM, on March 18, 2010 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. During the chat, Mustaine spoke about a recently recorded Megadeth song which will be used in an as-yet-undisclosed project later this year. Listen to the chat in eight parts here.

"That was a top-secret track that we haven't been able to announce where it's getting directed to," he said. "It's a song called 'Sudden Death', and appropriately so. And it's a pretty long song — it's not our usual three-to-four-minute length; it's more along the lines of... I think it's about five minutes long.

He continued, "We were approached to do a track for a specific purpose and we delivered it, and they said, 'Can you do more solos?' And I thought, 'Pfft, are you kidding?' That's like asking a guy, 'Do you wanna have some more sex?' So I went back in there and I went, 'Solo, solo, solo.' And I called Chris [Broderick, MEGADETH guitarist] back, and I said, 'C'mon back down here. Let's have some more fun.' And all you could hear was engines revving and brakes screeching out in front of the studio when he got there. You know, that's what we live for — is playing now."

"You heard it straight from our mouths; we are all at peace with one another, and we all are friends. End of story — or in other words, several shit magazines will now have to learn how to write real interviews, reviews, and features, instead of causing so much turmoil with us four, all in the spirit of selling their publications."

Je pense qu'il fait un report du Big Four

En gros il dit que les concert avec les autres c'était trop bien, et que tous les mecs s'entendent très bien, contrairement à ce qu'en disent certains magazines de merde.

Vyuuse, est ce que tu pourrais, s'il te plait, faire une photo du dessin qui apparait quand on met côte à côte toutes les éditions remastérisées des albums de Megadeth?

J'ai pas d'appareil photo sous la main, je peux te dire qu'on voit la tête de Vic Rattlehead sur fond bleu (tu dois le voir dans les photos de mes disques dans le topic collection)

Et ça me fait penser que j'ai toujours pas fait le classement que tu m'as demander pour les albums de Megadeth, va falloir que je m'y mette.

"Killing is my business...and business is good!" en fait partie?

Au passage, je fais ma pub, je possède une version originale de "Youthanasia", et j'aimerai l'échanger contre une version remastérisée.

Et pour le classement, j'attends ça avec impatience.

Non, il a été réédité deux ans avant, à l'occasion du décès du batteur dont le nom m'échappe. Et la tranche de la réédition de Killing est noire.

Ok, merci. J'aimerai quand même mettre la main dessus mais il est pas facile à trouver.

Il est loin d'être excellent leur premier album, pour ma part je l'ai juste pour la collection, mais je l'écoute jamais, trop bordélique et on en retient pas grand chose.

Rust In Peace, Peace Sells ou Cryptic Writings devraient être prioritaires

Rust in Peace je le connais bien, mais je l'ai pas en disque, je comptais essayer de le trouver aujourd'hui.
Peace Sells, je l'ai.
Cryptic Writings est bien? J'en ai pas eu de bons échos...

C'est un disque extrèmement varié, et faire un parallèle avec Load ne serait pas injustifié, à la différence que Megadeth a réussi son coup, un de mes disques préférés du groupe. T'as énormément d'influences du groupe dedans, du metal, du hard, du punk, mais le tout passé à la moulinette Megadeth, avec en prime un Dave Mustaine qui fait de gros efforts niveau chant (ça a commencé depuis Countdown).
